Loading of Russian Railway down 6.2%, y-o-y, to 95.2 mln t in Jan 2012
In January 2013, the volume of cargo loading at the network of Russian Railway OJSC totaled 95.2 mln t, which is a decrease of 6.2%, year-on-year, press center of RZhD informs.
In the reported period, cargo turnover fell by 7.3%, year-on-year, to 178.1 bln ton-km. The cargo turnover with regard of empty wagon run fell by 7.9% to 226.7 bln ton-km.
During the past month the company’s railways loaded 26.8 mln t of coal (+0.9% against Jan 2012); 1.03 mln t of coke (+0.6%); 21.9 mln t of oil and oil products (-2.8%); 8.5 mln t of iron and manganese ore (-3.8%); 5.9 mln t of ferrous metal (-6.2%); 0.7 mln t of scrap ferrous metal (-8.9%); 3.9 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilizers (-2.3%); 1.6 mln t of cement (-10.7%); 2.6 mln t of timber cargo (-4.6%); 0.7 mln t of grain (-58%); 9.7 mln t of construction materials (-18.3%); 1.7 mln t of nonferrous metal ores and sulfur raw materials (-10.7%); 2.3 mln t of chemicals and soda (-6%); 2.1 mln t of industrial commodities and molding materials (-18.3%).
