Draft law on 72-hour visa-free stay of foreigners at Russia’s IWW approved by Ministries
The draft law developed by RF Ministry of Transport providing a 72-hour visa-free regime for foreigners arriving in Russia by sport sailing boats and leisure crafts has been approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, PortNews IAA refers to Nadezhda Zhikhareva, deputy Director of the Department of State Policy for Marine and River Transport as saying at the last meeting of the Public Council of the RF Transport Ministry.
Nadezhda Zhikhareva added that the draft law is still under approving procedure with the involved executive authorities.
The Public Council of the RF Transport Ministry unanimously supported the draft law.
As PortNews IAA reported earlier certain amendments were introduced to the Inland Water Transport Code of the Russian Federation allowing foreign sport sailing boats and leisure crafts to pass inland water ways of the Russian Federation in compliance with the rules set up by the RF Government. The document contains the list of ports open for such vessels and a list of inland water ways open for their navigation.
