From February 5, 2013, in view of the warming and improvement of the ice situation in the Azov Sea, icebreaking assistance of vessels calling on the port of Yeisk is temporarily suspended from the ice edge in the Kerch Strait and back, press center of Rosmorport informs.
The calls to the port of Yeisk are currently supervised by the Captain Krutov icebreaker (Azov-and-Black Sea Basin Department) providing the captains with the recommendations on non-assisted navigation in the ice.
Over the ice navigation (from December 17m 2012 till present) the Captain Krutov icebreaker operating in the seaport of Yeisk escorted 24 convoys of vessels. Total number of vessels serviced by the icebreaker exceeded 160.
