Throughput of Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport up 32.6% to 305,000 tons in Jan’13
In January 2013, Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport OJSC increased its throughput by 32.6%, year-on-year, to 305,000 tons, the stevedore’s materials inform.
Export volume climbed by 37% to 206,100 tons including 171,600 tons of dry cargo (up 64.8%), 136,700 tons of general cargo (up 59.6%), 34,500 tons of liquid bulk cargo (down 25.4%). Import volume fell by 25% to 98,900 tons. The company’s container throughput fell by 19.6% to 4.774 mln TEUs.
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the largest enterprise of regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2012, the port’s throughput fell by 3.31%, year-on-year, to 3.31 mln tons.
