Hapag-Lloyd will launch the Finland Express (FIX), a new complementary service, directly connecting German Hubs with ports in the Gulf of Finland as well as Gulf of Bothnia, the company’s press center informs.
Starting end of March / beginning of April 2013, Hapag-Lloyd intends to operate this fixed day weekly service with two vessels covering following rotation: Bremerhaven, Hamburg, ports surrounding St. Petersburg area, Kotka, Rauma, and Gaevle.
As Hapag-Lloyd clarified for PortNews IAA, the service will not cover Russian ports so far but this possibility is being considered for St. Petersburg and Ust-Luga terminals. No specific terminals have been determined yet.
Russian ports are covered by the company’s service Russia Express (REX).
