South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, considered to be the world’s second largest shipbuilder, will build two large tankers for Russia’s Sovcomflot, PRIME-TASS reports. Besides, two tankers will be built for an undisclosed Liberian company and two for Leif Hoegh & Co of Norway. Total value of 6 tankers amounts to $600 million. The delivery is scheduled for January 2011. In 2006 the orders backlog of Daewoo Shipbuilding exceeds $11 billion owing mostly to contracts for high-technology goods.
