Marina Kovtun asks Dmitri Medvedev to facilitate construction of a substation for Murmansk transport hub
Marina Kovtun, Governor of the Murmansk region, in the course of her working meeting with the RF Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev addressed him with a request to charge Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System and RF Ministry of Energy with considering the possibility to build a 330-kW substation Murmanskaya, press center of the regional government informs.
The meeting was, in particular, dedicated to electric support of the project “Comprehensive development of Murmansk transport hub”. The project implementation requires connection of the new facilities with electric utilities.
Besides, the substation is necessary for safer electric supply of the existing consumers and for the launch of new facilities within the Murmansk city and the northern part of the Kola Peninsula.
The governmental customer of the project “Comprehensive development of Murmansk transport hub” is the Federal State-Owned Enterprise Rostransmodernizatsia. The project is financed by budget of the Russian Federation through allocations within the framework of the federal special-purpose programme “Development of Russia’s Transport System (2010-2015)”. The launch of a railway line on the west coast of the Kola Bay will facilitate the construction of new terminals in the district of Lavna river within the framework of the “Comprehensive development of Murmansk transport hub”.
