Bunkering market of Primorsk Territory expected to boost 2.5 times to 5.5 mln tons in 2013
The bunker fuel market of the Primorsk Territory is likely to boost 2.5 times, year-on-year, to 5.5 mln tons in 2013. According to the press center of the regional government, this forecast was announced at the meeting of the Dialogues business-club.
In 2012, the territory’s bunkering market with such major players as Gazprom, Rosneft, Oil Company Alliance and Tranzit-DV made 2.2 mln tons. By 2015 it is expected to surge to 12 mln tons.
The meeting was attended by Mikhail Bryachak, first deputy chairman of the RF Duma Transport Committee, Igor Pushkarev, first vice-governor of the Primorsk Territory, and representatives of business enterprises.
The meeting covered the issues of building an international bunkering center as a driving force for the development of the Far East port infrastructure, customs policy improvement, reduction of clearance procedures for vessels calling on Far Eastern ports, development operation port and logistic infrastructure as well as an impetus for the industry development, Far East transport infrastructure development and as a major component of the investment attractiveness of the Far East region.
Sergei Sidorov, first vice-governor of the Primorsk Territory marked the importance of the issues discussed at the meeting and underlined that the future of the Far East is in the ports of the Primorsk Territory.
According to the port business players, there is a potential for a considerable increase of the Primorsk Territory attractiveness for vessels including transit ones. The global experience proves that one of the instruments in this sphere is the bunkering market management. With this, the Primorsk Territory has an opportunity to become one of three largest bunkering hubs of the Asia-Pacific Region together with Singapore and Pusan.
