Kherson shipyard (Ukraine) launches Gloster 1, lead tanker of project RST26 (photo)
On February 22, Kherson shipyard (Ukraine) has launched the Gloster 1 vessel, the lead oil tanker of project RST26 with sea / river deadweight of 4,595 / 2,820 tons, press center of Marine Engineering Bureau, the series projector, informs.
Vessels of project RST26 are designed for mixed (river-sea) and maritime transportation of crude oil and oil products including petrol without flash-point limits, wine materials, food oils and molasses.
The vessel provides for simultaneous transportation of 2 sorts of the same cargo.
The vessels meet the dimensions of Volga-Don Ship Canal and The White Sea – Baltic Sea Canal.
The vessel’s parameters: overall length – 118.87 m, width – 13.0 m, hull height – 5.8 market, capacity of eight cargo tanks and two slop tanks – 5,009 cub. m, deadweight in sea – about 4,595 t with the draft of 4.784 m, in river with the draft of 3.60 m – some 2,820 t, operating speed – 10.0 knots.
The vessels completely meet new international requirements to transportation of vegetable oils, including two-compartment unsinkability.
The lead vessel of the project – Gloster 1 – was laid down on July 22, 2011.
Kherson shipyard founded in 1951 repairs and builds vessels, in particular, tankers with deadweight of up to 30,000 tons, ice-class supply vessels, ore-carriers, container carriers, multi-purpose dry-cargo vessels, drilling vessel with drilling depth of up to 6,500 meters.
