  ISO standard for cargo container fittings to be amended

  

  Amendments are to be introduced into ISO standards related to container fitting characteristics, PortNews IAA reporter refers to Aleksandr Fetisov, head of the department on container technical supervision, as saying at the Conference “Containers and container transportation - up-to-date solution for cargo delivery” organized in St. Petersburg by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. 
  
  Fetisov says the work on amending the standard will start in 2013. The existing standard of 1984 is out-of-date as the load on fitting has grown considerably.
