Lotos Shipyard launches dry cargo carrier Vladimir Zakharenko of project RSD-49
Dry cargo carrier Vladimir Zakharenko of project RSD-49 has been launched by Lotos Shipyard, press center of Konstantin Markelov, head of the government of Archangelsk region, reports.
The Vladimir Zakharenko is an up-to-date universal dry cargo carrier of river-sea class of 7,000 dwt. The vessel is designed for export-import transportation of a wide range of cargoes. The vessel will have the class of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and will be operated in the basins of the Baltic, North, Mediterranean, White, Caspian and Black Seas. The vessel’s draft is 3.6 m enabling her to pass inland water ways of the Russian Federation and other states.
In the nearest future the shipyard will complete the construction of a similar dry cargo vessel. Ankor LLC, the customer, plans to order 8 vessels of this type with Lotos Shipyard.
Astrakhan-based Lotos Shipyard specializes in the construction of modules for fixed offshore drilling platforms, designed for offshore exploration and production of oil and gas. The shipbuilding company’s major stockholders are United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Caspian Energy Group (CNRG) and the Astrakhan regional government. Since 2012 the shipbuilding company has been under control of USC.
