Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard will build ten barges for Gazprombank Leasing CJSC
On February 27, Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (Nizhni Novgorod), signed contracts for the construction of ten non-self-propelled dry cargo barges for transportation of loose cargo. According to press center of MNP Group, the construction is financed through the following leasing scheme: Gazprombank Leasing CJSC is the customer of the barges which are then to be handed over on lease to P.TransCo LLC .
Ten contracts were signed by the three parties: Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard, Gazprombank Leasing CJSC and P.TransCo LLC. The delivery under the contracts is scheduled as follows: two barges – autumn 2013, eight barges – from April till June 2014.
This double-hulled double-bottomed non-self-propelled dry cargo barge has one hold, forecastle and aftercastle, weathertight hatchway cover of cargo hold. Project 82 barge is to be pushed by an tug-boat Project 81. In its hold it can transport general cargo, bulk cargo, timber and over-sized cargo as well as 8.5-ft containers and 9-class dangerous cargo.
The vessels will be built under supervision of the Russian River Register in compliance with up-to-date standards, norms and regulations of commercial shipbuilding. RRR symbol - М3.0 (ice 10)А. The vessel is to be operated without a crew at inland water basins of the Russian Federation.
The vessel’s characteristics: LOA- 97.49 m, breadth overall – 16.15, beam – 16.8, midships depth – 5.34 m, draft – 3.6 m, displacement – 5,280 tons, capacity – 4,300 tons. The pusher barge line is equipped with a hydraulic friction coupler of ARTICOUPLER type produced by Taisei.
Krasnoye Sormovo (Nizhni Novgorod), one of Russia's oldest shipyards, was founded in 1849. The shipyard is a part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
