ADSC delivered 500 t of containerized fertilizers from Ust-Donetsk to Iskenderun (photo)
Logistic subdivision of Azov-Don Shipping Company (ADSC) has delivered 500 tons of ammonium sulfate from Ust-Donetsk (Russia, Rostov region) to the Turkish port Iskenderun, the company’s press center reports. The customer of the logistic service was KuibyshevAzot OJSC.
According to the scheme of the cargo delivery from Ust-Donetsk port to Iskenderun, the cargo packaged in big-bags was placed in 20-ft containers and delivered by automobile transport to the port of Novorossiysk and then by sea to the point of destination.
Ust-Donetsk port is the largest river port in the south of Russia. It has covered storage facilities for mineral fertilizers. Earlier the port handled and transported bulk fertilizers.
“It was the first time for our Group to handle containers in river port. With this positive experience, logistic schemes for transportation of mineral fertilizers will be developed basing on a possibility of container shipping,” said Igor Kasianov, Deputy Director General of Azov-Don Shipping Company.
Azov-Don Shipping Company is a transportation group set up in 2003. It integrates over 20 water transport enterprises including shipping, stevedoring, logistic and development companies. ADSC operates 73 river-sea going vessels with deadweight of up to 7,000 tons, 100 river going vessels with deadweight of up to 3,000 tons.
