Cargo turnover of Temryuk port grew by 11.8% in January-November 2006, amounting to 1 038.62 thou tons, PortNews IAA learnt from Taman branch of Rosmorport FSUE. Transshipment of export cargo totaled over the reported period to 920.43 thou tons (+4.05% against January-November 2005), including transshipment of sawn materials, which totaled 235.334 thou tons, round timber – 86.773 thou tons, chemical cargo грузов – 219.333 thou tons. In the 11-month period transshipment of grain cargo totaled 34.03 thou tons, metal scrap – 160.222 thou tons. Transshipment of fertilizers amounted to 53.764 thou tons, non-ferrous metal – 129.902 thou tons, general cargo – 119.264 thou tons. Import cargo transshipped in January-November 2006 totaled 118.19 thou tons, which is 2.7 times as much as in 2005. In the 11-month period the port handled 514 vessels (-6.03% against January-November 2005).

Temryuk Commercial Seaport is located at Taman coast of the Sea of Azov. Total length of the port’s berths is 1200 running meters. Major type of cargo handled at the port is the general cargo: round timber, timber materials, metal, as well as out-of-gage load and food staffs. Dredging works carried out from 1996, has almost finalized for the moment being at the approach canal, and the port is able to accept river-sea type vessels with up to 5000 tons displacement.
