Maersk to reduce bunker charges from Europe to China

Maersk Line has announced that starting January 1, based on the latest oil prices, the bunker adjustment factor (BAF) charge for all cargo movements from Europe (excluding Baltic Sea ports and Israel) to Hong Kong and the rest of China will be decreased to US$235 per TEU.The Danish shipping line announced that from January 1, the BAF charge for all cargo movements from Baltic Sea ports (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden and Saint Petersburg and Karliningrad in Russia) to Hong Kong and the rest of China has also been cut to $240 per TEU.
At the same time, Maersk announced in a statement that the currency adjustment factor (CAF) will be increased to plus 8.6 per cent from the beginning of January.
