PERN concludes agreement for development of Gdańsk Terminal
PERN "Przyjaźń" signed an agreement with a Consortium whose leader is IDS-Bud S.A. for the performance of the investment Crude Terminal in Gdańsk Stage I, PERN states in its release. The investment has been scheduled to be implemented for PLN 415 million in the system "design and build" and completed on turn-key basis at the end of 2015. The Consortium previously won the tender for General Contractor of the Investment.
The Crude Terminal in Gdańsk is supposed to be the first sea hub in Poland with a storage capacity of 700 thousand cubic meters for crude oil, petroleum products and chemicals. It will render a number of services to its contractors, such as storage, blending of accumulation of crude oil. It will become a window on the world for Polish and German refineries as well as traders operating within the basin of the Baltic Sea, and also an important element ensuring Poland's energy security.
During the first stage whose completion has been scheduled in 2015 the section dedicated to crude oil will be developed, i.e. tanks with a capacity of c. 400 thousand cubic meters with a complete infrastructure necessary for the functioning of the entire Terminal, such as pipelines, crude oil pump stations, fire protection pump stations with indispensable installations, protection, supervision and control systems, sewage treatment plants, and also buildings, roads and sites, complete development of the premises. During the investment after drawing up a business plan, the Company intends to invite tenders for next parts of the investment, which will be financially profitable.
PERN „Przyjaźń” S.A. is a company 100% owned by the Treasury. It deals mainly with the transportation of crude oil to refineries in Poland and Eastern German via the "Friendship" pipeline, running from Adamowo to Płock and further on to Schwedt as well as the Pomerania Pipeline connecting Płock and Gdańsk. The reverse Pomerania Pipeline in connection with the crude terminal in Gdańsk will allow PERN to import crude oil by sea and to transit it across Poland.

The Companies constituting the international Consortium have implemented numerous comprehensive and complex investments such as gas transmission pipelines, petroleum pipelines, combined heat and power plants, industrial facilities, passenger terminals, stadiums, bridges and the like.
