Cargo turnover of Klaipeda port (Lithuania) up 9.3% in 11M06

Cargo turnover of Klaipeda port (Lithuania) totaled 21.498 million tons in January-November 2006, the port’s PR expert says according to RZD-Partner. The highest growth was demonstrated in the sector of loose fertilizers - by 29.7%, ro-ro cargo (+23.4%) and oil products (+20.7%). Transshipment of general cargo grew by 10%, year-on-year (+7.216 million tons), container cargo – by 6% (+208 thou TEU). In the 11-month period the port served 226.3 thou passengers (+11.8). This year the port accepted more large-capacity vessels.
