Russia increased its harvest of fish and other seafood products 1.1% year-on-year in January-November 2006, the federal fisheries agency Rosrybolovstvo told Interfax.
Russian fishing organizations caught 3.007 million tonnes of fish and other seafood products in January-November 2006, which is 32,500 tonnes more, or 1.1%, than in the first eleven months of 2005 when 2.975 million tonnes of fish were harvested.
In Russia's domestic waters, territorial seas, exclusive economic zone and continental shelf as well as the Azov, Black and Caspian seas, 2.236 million tonnes of fish were harvested in January-November 2006, which is 25,800 tonnes more, or 1.2%, than in the same period of 2005 when 2.211 million tonnes of fish were harvested.
