Petrolesport not to raise container transshipment within coming 6 months – Sergei Fedyayev

Petrolesport OJSC (Saint Petersburg) decided not to raise volume of container transshipment within coming 6 months. As PortNews reporter says it was told by Sergei Fedyayev, Director General of Petrolesport OJSC, at the meeting of the Committee on coordination of transport activities operating under Saint Petersburg Government. According to him, Petrolesport has limited amount of loaded containers incoming from the sea and empty containers delivered from the city. Besides, Petrolesport has allotted 2.6 hectares of its territory for construction of a ground needed for large-capacity vehicles going to the port. This ground capable of accumulating up to 96 trucks is to be out into operation by May 1, 2007. “It would be enough for us, - Fedyayev says, - as it will prevent flooding of the Obvodny canal embankment”.

Parallel to this work Petrolesport carries out accrediting of carriers, which is to be finalized in 2-3 months. Besides, the company intends to introduce the system for vehicles delivery to the terminal.

Petrolesport OJSC is a stevedoring company of Saint Petersburg port. The company is a part of Orimi concern. Petrolesport carries out cargo transshipment at 11 berths of Lesnoi port (No 42-64 and 46).
