Bunker brokers Wilhelmsen Bunkers and Premier Marine Fuels merge

Major bunker brokers Wilhelmsen Bunkers and Premier Marine Fuels plan to merge on 1 January, forming Wilhelmsen Premier Marine Fuels AS with Wilhelmsen Maritime Services AS (WMS as the majority owner. Tim Kemp, managing director of Premier Marine Fuels Ltd. will control the remaining shares.WMS says, as a result of the merger, the new company will have an expected annual volume of 7 - 8 million tons, giving it a significantly stronger competitive position in the market.It adds: “A staff of nine experienced brokers in Oslo, six in Singapore, four in London and one in Cape Town will make it possible to continue to provide world class service to the customers. Heading the new company will be Knut Bjørnebye, currently managing director of Wilhelmsen Bunkers. Tim Kemp, will continue to run the UK and Singapore operations. The head office will be located in Oslo.”
