Cargo turnover of Sverdlovsk Railway up 4.9% in January-November 2006 amounting to over 123 million tons of cargo, SRW’s PR service reports. Average daily loading of the railway totaled over 370 thou tons.
The railway loaded 28.696 million tons of construction materials (+8.6%), 21.531 million tons of oil cargo (+11.4%), 10.875 million tons of iron ore (+9.1%), 10.827 million tons of ferrous metals (+6.3%), 6.909 million tons of non-ferrous ore (+5.7%). In January-November, loading of high-profit cargo (cars, wire products, containers) grew by 4.4% to 21.356 million tons. The highest growth rates were demonstrated by Surgut branch of the railway – +17%, year-on-year, to 11.784 million tons and Sverdlovsk branch - +9.1% to 31.419 thou tons.
In November, SRW loaded 10.99 million tons of cargo (+2.3%, or +248 thou tons, year-on-year). Loading of high-profit cargo grew by 6.5% to 2 million tons.
