Gazpromneft Marine Bunker OJSC has acquired a bunkering tanker for operation in seaports of Black Sea region – Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Kavkaz, Temryuk, Taman and Sochi, the company’s press center says.
This vessel will be the eighth in the company’s own fleet. The vessel was named Gazpromneft Nord-East and the flag of Russia was hoisted on August 9. The 83-meter long tanker with the capacity of 2,600 tonnes was built in 2008. The vessel is equipped with the state-of-the-art navigation and safety systems, features an unrestricted navigation and ice-class enabling her to operate in winter even at freezing ports.
“The market of the Black Sea region is surging: in the 6-month period of 2013 our “on-board” bunkering hit 170,000 tonnes of marine fuel. One of the priorities of Gazpromneft Marine Bunker is to expand its own fleet for operation in promising sectors,” Andrey Vasilyev, Director General of Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, comments.
Gazpromneft Marine Bunker OJSC is a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft founded in 2007 for round-the-year supply of bunker fuels and marine oils for sea and river transport. The company holds leading position in Russia's bunker market with its share of 18.6%. Some 85% of the company’s customers are foreign ship owners. In 2012, total bunker sales of Gazpromneft Marine Bunker reached 2.9 million tonnes. The amount of "on board" bunkering grew by 38% to 1.8 million tonnes.
