In January-November 2013, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC handled 3.825 mln t of cargo (+15.4%, year-on-year), the company says. Transshipment of ferrous metal grew by 14.4% to 1.226 mln t, coal and coke – up over 1.8 times to 259,000 t.
The port’s container throughput (including loaded and empty containers) dropped by 22.6% to 145,138 TEUs.
Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2012, the port’s throughput fell by 3.31%, year-on-year, to 3.31 mln tonnes.
