The total throughput of Klaipėda Port and in Būtingės terminal in November of 2013 totalled 3,4 mln. tn of seaborne cargo. The cargo handling turnover in Klaipėda Port in November of 2013 reached 2,6 mln. tn (the year-on-year change was -15,2 pct. or by -462,3 thou. tn.), meanwhile -0,8 mln. tn of cargo were handled at Būtingės terminal (the year-on-year change was -13,9 pct. or -124,2 thou. tn), the company said in its press release.
The highest growth of cargo in November of the current year comparing with the corresponding period of 2012 was reached due to increased bulk and dry cargo turnover:
- natural and chemical fertilizers ( 512,7 thou. tn were handled, the change was +12,7 pct. or +57,8 thou. tn yoy);
- ore ( 120,4 thou. tn were handled, the change was +213,4 pct. or +82 thou. tn yoy);
-raw and processed minerals, construction materials ( 153, 8 thou. tn were handled, the change was +51,1pct. or +52 thou. tn yoy);
-scrap metal ( 57,1 thou. tn were handled, the change was +72 pct. or +23,9 thou. tn yoy);
-agriculture products ( 382,9 thou. tn were handled, the change was -23,5 pct. or -117,9 thou. tn yoy).
The approaching end of the current year has been marked by the rapid boost of consumer goods: the turnover of containerised cargoes was 378,4 thou. tn, i.e. more by +11,4 pct. or by +38,9 thou. tn if to compare with November of 2012.
