Royal Princess, the longest ship ever to dock at Passenger Port of St. Petersburg next year

The Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" prepares to handle on May 18, 2014 the cruise ship Royal Princess, the longest vessel the terminal accommodated ever, the PortNews correspondent reports quoting the port MC President Serik Zhusupov as saying.

The cruise ship has LOA of 330 meters, 13 m longer than previous record ship Celebrity Eclipse handled at the terminal.

The Royal Princess is the state-of-the-art luxury class ship, the flagship of Princess Cruises (USA), launched in June 2013.

"We have not received such vessels so far, but we have technical possibilities for that. We believe that handling such a vessel will be carried out normally", Zhusupov said .

JSC Passenger Port St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" is 100%-owned by St. Petersburg government and is the largest marine passenger port in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. Currently, the passenger terminal can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of 311 meters in length and a draft of up to 9 meters. The length and depth of new access channels is 10 km and 11 meters. The port operates seven piers. The quay wall length is 2171.06 m.
