Container traffic at CPV hits record high of 46,463 TEUs

Container throughput at Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV, part of Transport Group FESCO) in November 2013 reached a record high in the history of the terminal - 46,463 TEUs, the Group said in a press release.

The CPV terminal has demonstrated steady pace of growth in container volumes since the beginning of the second quarter of 2013. In July - November 2013, the terminal handled 213,076 TEUs, a 13 % gain compared with the previous five months of this year.

"The growth in containerized cargo is mainly due to new customers from the countries of Southeast Asia and the growth of import containers. CPV also continues to streamline business processes and modernize the infrastructure of the port complex", the company said.

CPV is engaged primarily in handling containers in line with the FESCO Group's strategy. Based on eleven-month results the share of containerized cargo makes up 63% of the port total throughput, up 11% year-on-year.

Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok (member of FESCO Transport Group), owns and operates its assets at the port of Vladivostok, a premier Russian seaport in the Far East region. Port of Vladivostok has 17 berths of total length of 4 km and specializes in handling general, bulk and containerized cargo. Each berth has railway tracks of total length of 20 km. The near-dock rail yard capacity is 1,000 rail cars a day
