According to current information provided by Iljichevsk Commercial Seaport (one of three largest Ukraine’s ports in terms of turnover), in the 11-month period the port handled 13.574 million tons of cargo (+0.8%, or +114 thou tons against year-on-year result, RZD-Partner reports. In November the port handled 1.062 million tons (-11.3%, or -135 thou tons against November 2005). The result is attributed to decreased growth in transshipment of general cargo (-592 thou tons against 11M05, which is -7.7%, to 7.089 million tons, in November: -7.6%, or -111 thou tons against November 2005 to 514 thou tons). The decrease was demonstrated mostly in transshipment of ferrous metals: -22.7%, or -961 thou tons to 3.282 million tons), including November results: -45.5%, or -114 thou tons to 137 thou tons).
At the same time there is a growth in transshipment of dry bulk cargo: in January-November it grew by 0.44 million tons (+9.3%, to 5.158 million tons). Transshipment of ore cargo grew by 379 thou tons, to 2.385 million tons mostly owing to export and transit.
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 1.327 million tons in January-November 2006 (+266 thou tons or +25%), mostly owing to growth in transshipment of edible oils (+479 thou tons, to 998 thou tons). At the same time, transshipment of oil decreased to 475 thou tons (-197 thou tons), gas condensate – to 41 thou tons (-20 thou tons).
