Kherson Shipyard (Ukraine) has finalized the construction of the first hull of a refrigerated cargo vessel ordered by Myklebust Prosjekt of Norway, Shipbuilding.ru reports. The vessel’s length is 81.55 m, breadth - 16 m, depth – 9.1 m, DWT – 2.5 thou tons. The vessel is designed for cargo transportation in open sea regions with the possibility to handle cargo with specific temperature in each cargo compartment. As the yard’s press center says, the second hull of the series is currently under construction, the sections are being built for construction of the third hull and metal is being purchased for the forth hull of the series. Besides, metal is being cut for construction of a supply vessel also ordered by the Norwegian customer.
The contract between Kherson Shipyard and Myklebust Prosjekt AS for construction of four hulls was signed in April 2006.
