CMA CGM subsidiary ANL Singapore and Dutch-based Royal Burger have set up two joint venture agency companies in Germany and the Netherlands. ANL runs container services between Europe and the Red Sea, Middle East Gulf, India/Pakistan, China, the Far East, and South East Asia; as well as between Europe and the US East Coast, the US Gulf and Australasia.
The new agency companies, ANL Germany and ANL Netherlands respectively will replace ANL's current agents, Müller Liner Agencies - the wholly-owned liner agency company of the Royal Burger Group, early in 2007.
ANL Singapore chairman John Lines said: "The initiative represents a further commitment by ANL to its German and Dutch customers and more broadly to all of our customers in the northern hemisphere markets in which we now operate. It also reflects our continued growth in the East/West Trades since entering these businesses in 2002, and particularly our growing presence in the Asia/Europe and the trans-Atlantic trades.”
Karel Peters, Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Burger Group added that, "The formation of the Joint Venture companies was a natural progression of the close relationship we have formed with ANL over the past four years, and we are delighted to be able to expand that relationship."
