China Shipping Container Lines has taken series of measures to deal with the coming low season, which will include cutting down fleet capacity and re-arranging its services. The company has replaced the 8,500-TEU ships used on its Far East-US West Coast service for 5,600-TEU vessels. The large ships will go to shipyards for maintenance, which will happen within in the first half of next year. Vessels will also sail at slower speeds to save on bunker costs.
