Oil export of Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” up 14.4% in 11M06

Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” OJSC increased oil export by 14.4% in January-November 2006 to 59 605.9 thou tons, PortNews IAA learnt from the Administration of Saint Petersburg port. In November 2006 export of oil grew by 9.3% against November 2005 to 5 289.3 thou tons.

Spetsmornefteport “Primorsk” OJSC (Leningrad Region, subsidiary of Transneft company) was put into operation on December 27, 2001 as the final stage of the first phase of Baltic Pipeline System (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechersk and West-Siberia oil-and-gas provinces as well as from Kazakhstan. PBS’s annual capacity as of the date of commissioning was 12 million tons. In 2003 PBS’s capacity was increased to 30 million tons of oil per year. Today its capacity is 65 million tons.
In 2005, the port's cargo turnover grew by 30.1% against year-on-year result to 52.12 million tons.
