A 59-year old man suffering health complications was medically evacuated from the cruise ship Carnival Fascination by a Coast Guard smallboat crew from Station Lake Worth Inlet, Fla., off the coast of West Palm Beach, Fla., Sunday.
At approximately 10:00 a.m. watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Miami command center received notification from the cruise ship concerning a 59-year-old man experiencing health complications Sunday.
A medical crew aboard the cruise ship examined the patient and contacted the Coast Guard for assistance. After discussing the man's condition with the
Coast Guard’s on-duty flight surgeon, it was determined that a medevac was needed.
A Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet 45-foot Response Boat—Medium crew. arrived on scene and transferred the man off of the cruise ship.
The man was transferred to EMS crews in West Palm Beach and later transferred to St. Mary's Hospital where his condition was listed as stable.
