Coal shipments through the terminal of LLC Port Vysotsky in January – April 2014 totaled 1,62 million tonnes, or a 11-percent gain from the same period a year before, the terminal operator said.
In March 2014, the stevedore company handled 411,000 tonnes of Russian export coal.
Leningrad region Russia based LLC Port Vysotsky specializes in handling Russian coal exported to Western Europe. After completion of dredging project depths of the harbor and access channels is 12.7 meters and 200 meters in width giving access to vessels with draft up to 11,9 meters and deadweight of well over of 45,000 tonnes. Since 2012 the coal terminal has been handling Panamax bulkers with DWT of up to 84,000 tonnes. Currently, the Port Vysotsky company handles monthly at least six dry bulk carriers of this size.
