Transas to supply communication & navigation package for two Palmali's newbuildings

Transas Group and Turkey based Armada Shipyard have signed a contract for installation of navigation and communication equipment on the  tankers built for the Palmali Shipping, a major oil cargo carrier. The tankers are built in accordance with new series of Armada project RST22M, DWT 7150, Transas said in a press release.

Within the contract Transas will install a set of radio and navigation equipment including Integrated Bridge System, radio communication console, Intercom and alarm system, DGLONASS and DGPS receivers and other systems. Installations will take place in October 2014 and January 2015 respectively.

Dmitry Lagoutin, managing director of Transas Navigator Ltd. (part of the Transas Group) comments:  "During several years of our cooperation with Turkish shipyards, Transas has equipped seven vessels as a part of the RST22M project for the Palmali Shipping.  5 more vessels are currently being built at the Yardimci shipyard. All vessels equipped by Transas meet all international requirements set for tankers. We are proud of our strong relationship with the Palmali Shipping and will continue delivering results to the highest standard".

RST22M project oil/product/chemical tankers of 7150 DWT are intended for sea and sea-river transportation of crude oil and petroleum products and have a capability to carry three different types of cargo simultaneously. In total, Transas has equipped more than 30 vessels for the Palmali Shipping.
