Ferries of Crimea-Kavkaz link make up to 30 voyages per day

Crimea-Kavkaz, ferry link in Kerch, has increased the number of voyages from 18 to 30 voyages per day which has reduced congestion of automobiles by a half. According to the press center of ANO Unified Transport Directorate, the increase of passenger throughput capacity and the decrease of automobile congestion have been achieved through optimization of the ferry link operation and separation of passenger and cargo transportation.

- This ferry link operates only for passengers while trucks are transported by the Poseidon-Express along the Novorossiysk-Feodosia. The vessel’s cargo capacity is 6,000 t that is some 120 large capacity trucks. Every day the vessel carries 100-110 trucks.

Besides, additional ferry, the Slavyanin, will be deployed for operation at the Crimea-Kavkaz ferry link exclusively for passenger cars (up to 240 cars) in order to minimize congestions.

As of today, the route is serviced by three ferry boats: Nikolai Aksenenko (261 passengers and 47 vehicles); Kerchensky 2 (215 passengers and 31 vehicles); Yeisk (175 passengers and 29 vehicles), the statement says.

From the beginning of 2014, throughput capacity of the ferry link has increased 2.5 times, year-on-year, to 5,000 persons and 900 vehicles per day.
