Cargo turnover of Latvian ports totaled 54.764 million tons in January-November 2006 (+0.5% against year-on-year result), RZD-Partner reports. Cargo turnover of Ventspils port decreased by 1.5% against January-November 2006 – to 26.546 million tons. Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo grew by 1.6% - to 16.584 million tons, including transshipment of oil products - 14.117 million tons (-7.5%). Transshipment of loose bulk cargo decreased by 21% - to 7.674 million tons, general cargo – grew 2.5-fold (2.288 million tons).
Cargo turnover of Riga port grew by 5.5% - to 23.516 million tons, including loose balk cargo - 14.443 million tons (+7.3%), including coal - 10.089 million tons (+2.6%); general cargo - 4.609 million tons (-19.6%); liquid bulk cargo - 4.463 million tons (+44.3%), including oil products - 4.412 million tons (+49.3%).
Cargo turnover of Liepaja port fell by 10.2% - to 3.703 million tons, including loose bulk cargo - 1.522 million tons (+7.5%), general cargo - 1.291 million tons (-38.6%), liquid bulk cargo - 890.3 thou tons (+46.6%).
In the 11-month period the highest result was demonstrated in the sector of loose bulk cargo and liquid bulk cargo. Transshipment of loose bulk cargo totaled 24.034 million tons (-3.8% against year-on-year result) including coal - 13.672 million tons (-3%). Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 21.937 million tons (+9.5%), including 18.853 million tons of oil products (+2.6%). Transshipment of general cargo totaled 8.792 million tons (-7%).
