Kaliningrad shipyard Yantar to build three frigates for Indian Navy

Kaliningrad shipyard Yantar has signed a Memorandum on construction of three frigates for Indian Navy, PRIME-TASS reports. The delegation of Indian Navy headed by Mr. Mishra, shipbuilding Director General, as well as representatives of Rosoboronexport, Northern design bureau of Saint Petersburg and the concern for building large and small capacity vessels visited the Yantar shipyard. They considered production facilities of the yard and evaluated the construction rates. Indian specialists have approved major parameters of the operation schedule as well as a protocol-memorandum for the contract implementation. The agreement was signed in July 2006 in Deli. Kaliningrad shipyard Yantar has started construction of a head vessel.
