Brazilian state-owned oil company Petrobras has appointed Inchcape Shipping Services as its US port agent. The agreement covers all US ports and represents over 120 port calls a year.
ISS Regional Managing Director for North & Central America, Lars Westerberg commented: “We’re delighted with the appointment and honoured by the trust placed in us by this prominent oil major.”
Ports of discharge include Corpus Christi, Houston, Beaumont/Port Arthur, Lake Charles, New Orleans, Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia.
ISS has contracted with Transpetro, the tanker operating subsidiary of Petrobras with over 100 owned vessels plus chartered tonnage under its control.
Over 40 calls have been handled by ISS since the inception of the agreement in September with vessels of between 35,000 to 80,000 dwt calling at various US ports to discharge crude, diesel, petrochemicals and other products.
ISS already represents a number of leading oil companies including British Petroleum, Exxon Mobil and Shell.
