Russian Baltic Fleet rescuers received deep-water apparatus Panther Plus (photo)

Rescue team of the Baltic Fleet’s SAR subdivision has commenced assembling of the state-of-the-art deep-water apparatus Panther Plus onboard the lifting-and-mooring vessel KIL-926 Aleksandr Pushkin, press center of Russia’s Defence Ministry says.

The assembling works are to be completed and final adjustment of all units is to be completed by the weekend. Early next week the Pnather will undergo first trials. Then the rescuers will embark on search and lifting of different objects in the open sea at the depth of up to 100 m.

The upgraded complex Panther Plus can operate at the depth of up to 1,000 m. It is fitted with two manipulators where special devices can be fixed for cutting cables and composite structures up to 90 mm thick. Panther can be transported by a military transport aircraft anywhere in the world. All the equipment  placed in three containers can be carried by vessels of adequate displacement.
