Development of water transport and shipbuilding industry in Karelia discussed in Petrozavodsk
In Petrozavodsk on July 8, 2014 an offsite meeting of the Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev jointly with the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North-West Federal District Vladimir Bulavin was held as the part of the preparatory measures to the Karelian Republic 100-year anniversary celebration, Rosmorport says in its press release.
At the meeting with the participation of the Rosmorrechflot Head and the FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director the following issues have been discussed: implementation of additional measures for the development of water transport and the hydraulic engineering installations system located at the Karelian Republic territory, as well as the measures on the development of the shipbuilding industry in the republic. Besides, Nikolay Patrushev has raised a point on the progress of realization of the plans for the perspective construction of the new seaport in Belomorsk.
General Director Andrey Tarasenko has given a report on the FSUE “Rosmorport” shipbuilding program. In his speech General Director has summarized the results of the fulfillment by the enterprise of its fleet development programs and the realization of activities on construction of vessels scheduled in the federal target programs the customer of which is FSUE “Rosmorport”. General Director told the attendees about the enterprise further plans on the fleet renovation for the midterm.
Andrey Tarasenko has stated that currently over 20 vessels are being under construction for the benefit of the enterprise and the sea port industry, and in the framework of the long-term fleet renovation program of the enterprise, starting with 2014, it is planned to increase the amount of financing allocated by the enterprise to these goals in almost three times. The priorities in the program of the enterprise fleet renewal will be the projects for the construction of the diesel icebreakers, dredging vessels, vessels ensuring the safety of navigation (buoy, pilot, hydrographic and utility boats) and ecological fleet vessels.
