Russian nuclear-powered icebreakers "Yamal" and "Vaygach" commenced escort of icebreaker "Kapitan Khlebnikov" and tanker "Yaroslav the Wise" as of July 15, 2014 from the port of Pevek towards the Kara Sea, the owner "Atomflot" said in a press release. This is the first in the summer-autumn 2014 season icebreaking mission from east to west.

The nuclear-powered icebreaker "Taimyr" on July 15 began icebreaking assistance and ice reconnaissance in the license area "Vostochno-Prinovozemelsky-1", owned by Rosneft. The customer is Karmorneftegaz, a sister company of Rosneft and ExxonMobil.
The Taimyr will be doing its job for nearly 20 days.
