Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport of Russia (Rosmororechflot) appointed Alexander B. Volkov as Harbourmaster of Big Port St. Petersburg effective July 21, 2014, Peter Parinov, head of Baltic Sea Ports Authority told IAA PortNews.
Big Port St. Petersburg is the largest port in the North-West of Russia. The port is located on the islands of the Neva River delta at the eastern tip of the Baltic Sea. The port is assessable from the Baltic Sea through the 27-mile long Marine Canal. The boundaries and adjacent waters of Big Port St. Petersburg include offshore anchorage area, terminals, warehouses and piers leased out to several stevedoring companies.
