Container throughput of CTSP (Saint-Petersburg) down 1% to 195,300 TEUs in HI’14
In January-July 2014, Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg CJSC (CTSP) handled 195,300 TEUs (-1%, year-on-year), the terminal operator said in a press release.
According to the statement, the decrease reflects a general trend in the stevedoring market with declining import flows due to lower domestic demand and weaker rouble.
Transshipment of import containers totaled 98,300 TEUs (-4.9%, year-on-year), export – 97,000 TEUs (+2.5%, year-on-year). The share of loaded containers increased from 19% to 35% with 34,400 TEUs of loaded export containers.
In the reported period, export accounted for 50.3%, import – for 49.7%.
