The Board of Directors of JSC Tuapse Commercial Sea Port at the meeting, July 25, 2014 has approved the deal with of Oka Shipyard on the construction of oil tanker / oil skimmer of Project RDB.27.05, the port operator said.
According to the Board's meeting minutes the contract is valued at RUB 164.8 million. The vessel will be delivered to the customer no later than May 31, 2016.
Tuapse Commercial Sea Port JSC (TMTP), founded in 1994, is the main stevedore company operating at one of the largest southern Russian ports, the Port of Tuapse. TMTP is majority owned by UCL Port (65.06%), which is part of the international transportation group UCL Holding, which includes also Taganrog seaport in southern Russia and JSC Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg, CJSC Container Terminal St. Petersburg and Multipurpose Handling Complex LLC on the northwest of the country. In 2013 cargo throughput at the TMTP terminals reached 12.3 million tonnes.
Okskaya Sudoverf (Shipyard Oka) founded in 1907 is based in Navashino, Nizhny Novgorod region. Oka Shipyard is part of VBTH, a division of UCL Holding and specializes in building mixed river / sea class liquid / bulk cargo vessels of medium tonnage, container carriers, special purpose ships and barges.
