Epic Gas names Charles Maltby Executive Chairman
Epic Gas Ltd. announces that Charles Maltby has been appointed Executive Chairman effective September 17, 2014. Current Chairman Chris Buttery will remain actively involved as a Director of the company, the company said in its press release.
Lars Vang Christensen, CEO of Epic Gas Ltd. stated, “Charles is an outstanding leader in the maritime sector. I look forward to working with Charles and the rest of the board to continue building upon Epic’s success.”

Charles Maltby has over 20 years of international shipping industry experience, most recently as Managing Director of Pacific Basin (UK) Ltd. where he built and led the global Handymax business and managed all dry bulk operations in the Atlantic region. Prior to Pacific Basin, Charles held various positions of increasing responsibility within BHP Billiton’s dry bulk and tanker freight businesses. Charles began his career with Mobil Shipping Company Ltd. (now ExxonMobil) where he was responsible for execution of LPG and petrochemical chartering.
