Russia will account for two percent of the world's shipbuilding market by 2020, Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Andrei Reus told a governmental commission meeting, RBC reports. He expects the domestic shipbuilding industry's output to be up by 1.5 times by 2010 and 2.2 times by 2015. Meanwhile, commercial shipbuilding growth should have the priority in its growth rate. By 2020, commercial shipbuilding should represent 40 percent of this industry's total output, Reus said.

He stressed that a comprehensive product promotion program for 2008-2015 should be developed in 2007, and that the matter of employing such a financial instrument as leasing required being resolved urgently within the shipbuilding industry, RBC reports.
