Throughput of Chinese ports up 4.6% to 6.42 bln t in Jan-July’14
In January-July 2014, the ports of China increased their throughput by 4.6%, year-on-year, to 6.42 bln t of cargo, says the Ministry of Transport of the Government of the People's Republic of China. In the accounting period seaports of China handled 4.47 bln t (+6%), river ports – 1.94 bln t (+1.7%).
Container throughput climbed by 5.3% to 29.4 mln TEUs including 113.86 mln TEUs in seaports (+6.5%) and 11.3 mln TEUs in river ports (-4.3%).
