French shipping line, CMA-CGM is not making a bid to acquire Wan Hai Lines of Taiwan, according to the Taiwanese carrier. A statement from Wan Hai Lines said that "Seatrade Asia Online has made a wrong inference regarding CMA-CGM takeover bid target".
Wan Hai Lines said that it is not been engaged in any sort of dialogue with CMA-CGM for the takeover its company or even a merger, though they have co-operated on joint services in the past.
But there is still speculation that CMA-CGM officials who were Taipei recently may try to acquire another Taiwanese shipping line, but definitely not Wan Hai Lines, said a statement from the Taiwanese carrier.
