Customs clearance procedure at Big Port St. Petersburg requires no customs officers on board in 73% of cases this year, IAA PortNews journalist cites Andrey Mikhailyuk, head of Baltic Custom’s Service for Customs Control Organization, as saying at VI Baltic Transport Forum in Saint-Petersburg. 

In particular, this practice is applied at Moby Dik terminal in 100% of cases.

According to the official, Border Guard personnel need to visit the vessels. 
Andrey Mikhailyuk says that average time required for customs clearance in the port is 23 hours today, 13 hours less than a year ago.
