Maersk Vietnam head Paul Hoogwaerts said the conglomerate's logistics business Maersk Logistics expects to double in size over the next five years as a result of the economic growth and Vietnam's entry into the World Trade Organisation.
"Maersk Vietnam has the advantage of having government approval to operate as a 100% foreign-owned entity and that enables the country to open offices all over Vietnam. This advantage makes a big difference," he said.
Maersk Vietnam is in the process of opening new offices in Quy Nhon and Danang, bringing its total in the country to five. Hoogwaerts said more would be opened as the company received authorisation from local governments.
